D-Link DCS-6620G Wireless PTZ Dual Codec 0.05 Lux Optical Zoom Internet Camera Review

I installed this device to monitor my baby in his crib, especially for me to hear when I'm in the room and he needs my help.

Installation is very easy – only took me 10 minutes. The web-based interface is not as decorated, but very easy to use. After installing a small ActiveX control, works immediately with my Internet Explorer 6.5. I was also able to create multiple user accounts so that my son is not as tech-savvy parents and grandparentsuncles / aunts can see I live in Taiwan and the West Coast. It was operational for several weeks and no previously reported bugs have been found. Imagine that updated firmware / software.

My overall comment:
Pro
– Very easy to configure
– Supports two-way audio communication – I can hear my son and talk
– Chamber of rotation, zoom, white balance (Iris), also the LED can be controlled easily by web interface
– Ability to createmultiple user accounts with diff. Privileges
– Built-in Web-Based Streaming Server – very easy to set up a web-cast
– A self-focus and auto-white balance

Weaknesses:
– Does not support Firefox (reason for 4 stars)
– Autofocus may not focus entirely

Rock Solid Camera – Joni –
If this camera for over two years and worked rock solid. I have no problem with it the connection and installation only took about 15 minutes. I have the camera sitting in a window and can read a license plate a block away. I have the camera set up to cover my car in my driveway at night and low lux capability allows you to see very well with a street light as illumination. The price is a bit "stiff D, but the lowest price-Link units are a drop in the generalquality and characteristics. I am not sure if the problems were with the unit initially, but I have no problem with the camera (other than price).

Device is now in operation for two months. Setup was easy (LAN) is installed and running in 15 minutes, then broadcast router port. I hesitated to buy this product because of the many negative feedback, but I had to try because of the function of 0.05 lux. So far, there are no problems of lock-up and I'm happy with it, with the latest firmware in 2008. Web Interface only works with Internet Explorer 6 / 7 (I do not know if it works with IE8), but you must turn off Microsoft's Silverlight orthe video is not displayed. Not supported browsers: Firefox, Safari, Opera and Chrome is the ActiveX component of the camera is not installed. ActiveX component is responsible for displaying video.

Its pretty good depending on how you use it – Anne Kathleen Bernier – Jupiter, FL
I own my business, but I have a client that needs people who knew how to work security cameras. I do not think it would be so difficult. Security cameras needed for a national card game has 3 years in different places all the time. They wanted us to see or catch cheaters or exclude a possible hoax. I started with 4 cameras. It was amazing. He said how far can zoom and image quality. I could see people in their tracksuits paper of 100 meters. But when I updated to 8 cameras, started the program to become a problem.Using dview CAM, 8 cameras began to freeze or reduce Out was also using a router DLINK DIR 450 and had Air card sprint connected (since it is recommended that you use with these cameras), but what I failed to mention is that the more cameras you have, the more you have problems too . The card sprint air (and any other AirCard of you buy) provides only limited bandwidth. And the divide to 8 camerasactually decrease a lot, which will then give a means connection. The unstable for me with this problem is to have a solid connection to the Internet as Comcast internet. But because I always travels with this system, I can not do that. wish I knew that I passed 4 other cameras. Now I buy another router and card air and laptop 8 cameras to split into 2. His support will take hours. When you first call will be assisted by a novice and if you can not help, it willTransfer to a higher level of technical support, and if you can not help transfer technology Wil to another level. They are ready to say that a product is defective, even if it is not. So you want to be sure you've done everything you can. I know more about these cameras that I want to know. I had to change the settings for the cameras, routers, ports, static IP and everything technical. Also, make sure the computer used is a 32-bit operating system, because it is NOT compatible with 64 bits.More than 3 GB of RAM, of any nature will be 64 bits.
